Alex DeCaria - Associate Professor of Meteorology
Dr. DeCaria received his PhD from the University of Maryland
where he did research on lightning and atmospheric chemistry.
He is interested in numerical modeling, and developed and teaches
our Numerical Modeling of the Atmosphere and Oceans course.
He is also interested in the application of geographic information
systems (GIS) to the atmospheric sciences. Dr. DeCaria served
11 years in the U.S. Navy as a meteorology officer, including
duty as a typhoon forecaster at the Navy/Air Force Joint Typhoon
