Position #1: Environmental Scientist Job Description/Requirements: Within a team environment, complete assigned fieldwork consisting of, but not limited to, collection of soil, sediment, air, surface water, and/or groundwater samples; coordination and oversight of subcontractors; reconnaissance and data gathering on a variety of properties (from agricultural through heavy industrial) and recording of pertinent site characteristics or geologic features; operations and maintenance of remedial systems; completion of aquifer testing; and installation of soil probe and/or monitoring wells. Fieldwork will include, but not be limited to, lifting of pumps, generators, or similar required equipment; shoveling, or augering; walking; or working in inclement (but safe) weather conditions. Office work will involve data compilation and assessment of acquired fieldwork, maintenance of the site database, evaluation of data and preparation of charts and tables, and preparation of draft reports and project documents. Education/Skills: · Bachelor of Science degree in geology preferred or environmental science. · 0 to 3 years of technical and project management knowledge/skills, commensurate experience specifically in the field of professional environmental consulting. · Ability to complete assigned field and office tasks in a manner befitting high professional standards and on time and within budget. · Professionally and safely function within a multi-functional staff in a fast-paced work environment. · Communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, consistent with the requirements for this position. · Effectively use and operate a personal computer and use Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, and applicable scientific or other software necessary for this position. · Knowledge of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, NEPA, and Pennsylvania Act 2 investigations a plus. · Asbestos and/or lead-based paint licenses are also a plus. · Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and clean driving record.
