Thirteen students, three faculty, and MU President McNairy attended the 87th Annual AMS meeting in San Antonia, TX. Ironically, a crippling ice storm affected much of Texas during the meeting, which ran from January 14 - 18, 2007. We invite all MU grads to join us at next year's 88th meeting of the AMS to be held New Orleans, LA from January 20 - 24, 2008.
In September 2006, half of our weather map wall was converted to an electronic map wall. So, in addition to paper upper-air maps and model output, we now have three 32-inch flat screen monitors for displaying NOWRAD, Satellite imagery, and model guidance. Click here to view the "E-Wall".
MU meteorologists are becoming increasingly visible on the air waves across the country. The class of 2006 leads the way with three grads now on air. They are: Joey Sovine (WVVA, Bluefield WV), Kira Kanitra (WMDT, Salisbury MD), and Jodie Frazee (NECN, Boston MA), pictured right.
