After all the heat and humidity of recent days, the region is finally going to dry out and enjoy a beautiful comfortable day today as Canadian high pressure settles over us. However, the threat for showers and thunderstorms starts to increase as we head through the weekend due to an upper level low pressure system over the Great Lakes. Most of the precipitation should occur on Sunday into Monday as a slow moving cold front approaches the Commonwealth. Sunday there will be a threat for afternoon showers and thunderstorms with more warm and humid conditions. Monday should stay a bit cooler with a good chance for rain most of the day.
