Now
try the same concept as presented in the module with real-time data
. Go to the Lead Portal by clicking here .
- Create an account: Step 1
- Log in: Step 2

- Once you have logged in , you should see a page similar to the one below
- Take a tutorial on the experiment builder(#3) as well as the geographic data search(#4) in order to know how to request real time data from the Lead Portal.

- Once you have completed the tutorials, you now can access the data and visualize it in IDV according to the parameters in the Jetstream module.
- In IDV, go to the dashboard. Shown Below.
- Go to the 3D grid heading under the fields section, under that click "pressure vertical velocity at isobaric levels." (#5)
- In the display section click isosurface under the 3D heading.(#6)
- In the time section keep it as default or select the times you want to view.
- Finally, click the button create display. (#7)

- Do the same procedure for the rest of the parameters.
- For windspeed
(repeat 4 times)
- 3D grid
- Derived
- Windspeed
- Under Displays : 3D surface
- For temperature
- 3D grid
- Temperature at fixed height above ground
- Under Displays : Color- Filled Contour Plan View
- Under Level section select 2m
- For Geopotential height
- 3D grid
- Geopotential height at isobaric levels
- Under Displays : Contour plan view
- Under Level section select 300 hectopascals
- For Wind Barbs
- 3D grid
- Derived
- Flow Vectors
- Under Displays : Wind Barb plan view
- Under Level section select 300 hectopascals
- Now that you have all the parameters for the jetstream module, you will have to adjust them to look similar to the module's parameters .
- Go into the dashboard and click the displays tab.
- First for pressure vertical velocity at isobaric levels or omega, change the color table to yellow. (#8)
- Make sure the isosurface value is -.3 Pa/s and press enter. (#9)
- Now for the windspeed, you should have 4 parameters exactly the same.
- Change the windspeeds to 45,55,65,75 m/s.
- Also, change the color table to look similar to the module's color scheme. Shown below with the 4 different wind speeds.
- For the 65 m/s windspeed (#10) edit the color manually to get the darker blue similar to the module or chose a different color for simplistic sake.

- For the temperature ( T_fhg Color-Filled Contour), change the range, the units, and the internval.
- First click on the temperature section under the displays tab.
- Then click the edit tab.
- Then click change parameter
.
- Change the parameter to Fahrenheit.
- Next click on the color range(#11)
- Change the range from -40 to 80
- Next click the button next to contour.
- It should look similar to the picture below.

- Now for geopotenial height.
- Under the Displays tab, click Z-Contour Plan View
- Click the change button next to contour .
- Change the interval to 120 gpm
- Click the default button
next to the color table
- Change the color to black
- You should now have something similar to the picture below.

- Lastly, flowvectors
- Click flowvectors under the displays tab
- Change the skip interval to 2 (#12)
- You should have a similar picture below.
- Now you should have all the parameters similar to the one in this module.
- You are able to now go through the worksheet with real-time data.
